Aghsan Lives!

Aghsan” refers to a male descendant in a direct line from King David through Baha’ullah. This is an inviolable tenant of the Baha’i Faith and the world of Religion. The Aghsan continues the ever-enduring lineage of King David and his descendant Baha’u’llah, the Prophet and Founder of the Baha’i Faith. The Aghsan is also the only true hier to the Throne of David, which is to last forever, as we see in God’s Promise to King David.

I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant, thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations. Selah. -Psalms 89:3-4

My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips. Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David.
His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before me.
-Psalms 89:34-36

Then, in 1867, from the pen of Baha’u’llah…

Call out to Zion, O Carmel, and announce the joyful tidings: He that was hidden from mortal eyes is come! His all-conquering sovereignty is manifest; His all-encompassing splendour is revealed… The Most Great Law is come, and the Ancient Beauty ruleth upon the throne of David. Proclamation of Baha’u’llah p. 89

Baha’ullah then appointed his son, Abdu’l-Baha, as His successor to the throne.
Abdu’l-Baha’s only son died in infancy. He adopted Mason Remey as his Aghsan successor to the throne.
The First Guardian of the Baha’i Faith was Shoghi Effendi. Shoghi was not the Agshan. He was the “Chosen Branch,” and “Unique Guardian,” because his mother was Abdu’l-Baha’s daughter while his Father was a descendant of the Bab and Mohammed. This made Shoghi Effendi an Afnan, thus, he did not inherit the Throne of David because that was given to Mason Remey. Later, Shoghi Effendi appointed Mason Remey to be the President and head of his International Baha’i Council. Being both Aghsan and President of the council made it clear that Mason Remey was the intended first Aghsan Guardian of the Baha’i Faith.

Mason Remey Aghsan also had no sons. He adopted Joseph Pepe to be his successor to the Aghsan lineage and the Throne, and appointed him to the position of Guardian. Joseph Pepe Remey Aghsan had no sons. Pepe adopted and appointed Glenn David Goldman to be his successor to the Aghsan lineage and the Throne and the Baha’i Guardianship.

Today, Glenn Goldman Pepe Agshan is alive and well and is busy doing the work of the True Guardian and teaching the Baha’i Faith in the Western United States.

The Guardian has permitted me to post this statement, which is primarily aimed at people around the world who identify with the Baha’i Faith and the Cause of God.
